Biography

Bio: For a decade, Consequence was hip-hop's perennial bridesmade. He was prominently featured on Tribe Called Quest's 1996 album Beats, Rhymes and Life. His quick flow and intricate wordplay caught the attention of hip-hop fans, but Con failed to capitalize off the buzz. And from 1996 to 2002, the rapper seemed to have gone AWOL, though he did record an album for Elektra in 1998 that was shelved. His career was resurrected that year when an upstart Chi-Town producer by the name of Kanye West championed the Native Tongue B-lister. His guest spot on song "Spaceship" was considered one of the strongest verses on the College Dropout and resulted in a string of successful mixtapes (most notably 2004's Take 'Em to the Cleaners that culminated with the release of the 2007 album Don't Quit Your Day Job. That album explored Consequence's everyman persona and featured a plethora of smooth, throwback beats and blue collar rhymes.
