Remember when Cornershop was a rock band that laced its indie through with bits of Indian music? OK, well, that's still what they're doing, only minus the garage rock and plus a whole lot more of the corner shop -- and an eclectic, pop-leaning aesthetic. Actually, Double O is more kitchen sink. They pair spaceship blips with bhangra beats; they have fun with funk and country rock; they throw in British brass and harpsichords. Bubbley Kaur's airy, Punjabi-meets-playback vocals float over top of it all, providing a sweet, satisfying consistency.
