Cowboy Troy furthers his foray into "hick-hop." This time his rhyming skills sound noticeably honed, even if his actual rhymes are a bit corny (check the lyrics on "My Bowtie"). "Blackneck Boogie" is an attempt to invent a new dance craze (do those still exist?) and "Hick Chick" tries to validate back stage country groupies. Cowboy Troy scores best when he injects the rap rock genre with tinges of twang, as heard on "Buffalo Stampede." The guitars sound a bit dated, but adding banjos and pedal steel to the same formula that birthed 1991's "Bring the Noise" is still a new idea, so maybe nobody will notice.
