Cry Cry Cry

A mostly contemporary covers collaboration between three of the biggest names in Modern Folk: Dar Williams, Richard Shindell and Lucy Kaplansky. Curiously, they chose not to cover the Johnny Cash song they apparently took their name from. The songs they did choose are certainly interesting, though; they include R.E.M.'s "Fall on Me" and the Nields' "I Know What Kind of Love This Is." Memorable performances nearly untainted by the push and pull of most collaborations.
