Mundial starts out vintage DY: The talento de barrio calls out haters, reclaims his perch at the pinnacle of reggaeton, and then drops the dembow-driven spitfire delivery we've come to expect. But the venerable reggaetonero has been patronizing European dance clubs, and soon enough the Auto-Tune starts, followed by trance effects that conjure up vast Ibiza nightclubs rather than gritty San Juan barrios. No matter: Even drowning in a sea of soca and batucada (on the FIFA wannabe-anthem "Grito Mundial"), Yankee still exudes magnetism.
