Dakota Staton

With a deep-voiced and dramatic but wholly convincing delivery, Staton occupies a place of her own among vocal standard interpreters. Due to her unusual style, perhaps, she hasn't quite earned the same notoriety as some of her contemporaries. She does, however, have a well-deserved reputation for her unmistakable presence, her authoritative delivery, and her rare ability to render a well-worn song such as "Body and Soul" as though it were written just for her.
