Biography
One of the finest little-known soul-slingers of all time, New York born Darrell Banks recorded briefly for both Atco and Volt in the early '60s while also working as a songwriter and a producer. His Open the Door to Your Heart was a huge hit, while his heavy soul and church cries have made him a favorite of the Northern Soul aficionados. Unfortunately, he was killed in 1967 after confronting the policeman who was sleeping with his girlfriend.
