Brubeck trailblazed playing concerts at universities (they often contained rabid jazz-starved fans who were far from big cities), which helped break him with audiences and buyers of the then-new LP format. Great synchronicity between Brubeck and saxophonist Paul Desmond, who plays in a much faster bebop style at this stage of his career.
