A beautiful meditation on jazz and Japan. Brubeck and his saxophonist Paul Desmond are standouts as usual, and drummer Joe Morello and bassist Eugen Wright are true partners here. The shimmering "Koto Song" remains one of Brubeck's favorite songs and features him and Desmond at their broken-hearted best.
