Released:
Label: Blue Castle Records
David Crosby's first solo album in two decades (released on his own Blue Castle Records) finds him mining the same jazzy, West Coast folk-rock sound that's been the Woodstock icon's calling card ever since penning "Triad" in the mid '60s. Many of the set's 11 cuts, including "Set That Baggage Down" and "Holding on to Nothing," find Crosby not only struggling to come to terms with his past, but his own sense of mortality as well. Sonically speaking, the record is tastefully professional, featuring contributions from jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and perpetual sideman Mark Knopfler.
