As the title suggests, this group is jamming on microtones. Sliding, on a second-by-second basis, between sounds that may suggest (variously) klezmer/island music/Japanese koto/post-rock/modern-classical, this is recommended for anyone with a taste for sonic collage. "Micro Emperor" gives the leader ample room to explore his fretless guitar mastery (and throw a weird nod in the direction of Beethoven). "Mystic Microjam" steers toward hard funk. Who said microtonal complexity couldn't be fun?
