The first half of Day26's debut wades too far into Making the Band's pre-Diddy, O-Town terrain: Season 4's winners are fervent and their voices mesh together prettily, but the material's a little too generic to get them past the reality TV jinx. Thankfully, the boys get their Danity Kane on later, collaborating with their female counterparts on "Ain't Going" and working the vocal drama on "If It Wasn't for You." But as Season 2's quickly forgotten Da Band knows, talent isn't enough. Day26 is gonna need more of the charisma they exhibit on "Exclusive" to make it past their reality origins.
