Label: BULK RECORDINGS (BKR)
Back in 2000, Deltron 3030 was part of a post-Y2K cultural surge. The decade-in-the-making sequel Event II doesn't seem particularly relevant now, but it still boasts Del the Funky Homosapien, one of the quirkiest MCs ever, and Dan the Automator and Kid Koala, who ladle his stories with swelling orchestras and twitchy boom-bap. There are tangential cameos from foodie icon David Chang (who promises that in the future "everyone will eat pork buns") and others, but the hour belongs to the fervid mind of Deltron Zero, a man with "the quick thinking and dexterity of a sick genius."
