DePedro's second solo outing picks up where his debut left off: in the American desert, wandering in la frontera. But his direction has changed subtly; cueing off of the album title, he seems concerned with how you capture the ephemera of life, its changeability, on paper. His answer? You don't capture anything, you just make space -- lots of it. And so the album moves forward at a rootsy shuffle, bolstered by members of Calexico, while DePedro's unadorned lyricism makes this a distinctly compelling and sweet, if low-key, release.
