Deryl Dodd

Texas-born, Nashville-based Deryl Dodd has a straightforward style of singing that seems completely at ease with country music -- and completely uninterested in the crossover dreams held by so many of his Music City contemporaries. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, he writes most of the material on his records. His songs have a strong honky tonk feel, tempered by a flair for narrative detail that might have been gleaned from Texas songwriters like Guy Clark or Townes Van Zandt.
