Released:
Label: N.E.E.T. Records / Interscope
Blaqstarr's career has evolved fitfully since Diplo recruited the DJ from the Baltimore club scene. He has since scored hits like "Shake It to the Ground," but his Divine EP is more akin to Lil Wayne's Auto-Tune-rotica than classic B-more booty bass. "Turning Out" is a strip-club grind, while "All the World" adds funky drums and a wavering electro melody to Blaqstarr's ambient crooning. His voice is fairly thin, as most Auto-Tuned stuff tends to be, but he still achieves a synergy of rhythm and desire with "Rider Girl" and "Oh My Darlin'."
