Andy Moor, guitarist for Dutch post-punks the Ex, teams up with DJ Rupture, a Brooklyn-based DJ with a fix on the global bass diaspora. The results are incendiary; Moor's scraping and clanging, recalling Sonic Youth's experimental early recordings, meets dubscape shudder and sampled dronescapes. Dread-filled drum 'n' bass passages give way to moments of rock 'n' roll release, and Middle Eastern rhythms swap duties with glitchy hip-hop grooves; the hour-long experience is akin to waking up in a strange country with no fixed reference points, entranced by the stimuli all around.
