Doug Stanhope loves to rant from the soap box. On No Refunds, with a life-isn't-fair attitude, the comedian runs the gamut of important social issues: he takes on anti-smoking and -drug fascism by decrying that he'd rather live in the '80s (when you could smoke indoors and take legal uncut ecstasy); the inconvenient sexism of social codes, like chiding women for being promiscuous; and the government only legalizing drugs that make you more productive and turn you into a cubicle-loving sheep. Stanhope is a Mother Jones for slacker, vice-addled subversives. Bill Hicks would be proud.
