Dougie MacLean

As the founder of Dunkeld Records, an independent label that's been home to some of the genre's most acclaimed newcomers, Dougie MacLean appears to be the lynchpin of the modern Scottish Folk scene. MacLean has been a creative force since the mid-1970s, contributing to the preservation of Scotland's musical heritage while doing time with seminal bands Silly Wizard and the Tannehill Weavers and releasing a steady stream of his own solo material. A talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, MacLean specializes in evocative, pastoral songs that celebrate the beauty of Scotland's landscape as well as chronicle her triumphs and tribulations.
