Prog metal kings Dream Theater touch on Journey and Boston more than Iron Maiden on this, their third record, arguably one of the band's finest efforts alongside 1992's Images and Words. While their attention to technical complexity and their ability to flawlessly deliver such complexity is a big part of the draw, newcomers may be surprised at the amount of vocal melody singer James LaBrie provides. Still, the seriously Yes-heavy and instrumental "Erotomania" will have naysayers won over.
