Drop Dead, Gorgeous

Drop Dead, Gorgeous play a somewhat complex blend of punk and metal often termed post-hardcore, marked by vocals that range from screaming to whispers to death-screech. The band formed in Denver, Colorado, in 2000, gaining the attention of Rise Records through songs posted on their MySpace page while the kids were still in high school. Rise put out a pair of records for them (Be Mine, Valentine and In Vogue) and sent them out on a series of tours. In 2006, they signed to Geffen. The highly involved concept album Worse Than A Fairy Tale came out in August 2007.
