Duane Jarvis

This singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's pedigree as a sideman is long and varied. The list of folks who have utilized his country/rock guitar talents includes Lucinda Williams, the Divinyls, John Prine, Howe Gelb, and Julie Miller, all of whom respect Jarvis for his chameleonlike ability to get to the heart of a song with a simple, straightforward lick or riff. Jarvis has also been making records on his own for awhile, and his sound reflects the people with whom he has worked, not to mention his unerring ear for a hook -- whether the best way to get it across be a Stones-style guitar rave-up or a quiet, acoustic lament.
