On Tio Bitar, the anticipated follow-up to Dungen's Ta Det Lugnt, Gustav Ejstes still sings in his native Swedish tongue and the production still sounds brewed in 1968. But where compositions on that debut flowed seamlessly, Tio Bitar lets each song stand out as an individual entity. Extended lysergic jams are deemphasized for shorter bursts of cinematic soundscapes. In place of jazzy, proggy, adventurous anti-arrangements, Tio Bitar rolls with hard rockers ("Mon Amour") and summery folk songs ("Svart Ar Himlen").
