It would be grand if they went back to the Crocodiles-era of dark genius, but instead Echo and the Bunnymen have returned with a dose of positive, radiant pop. Songs like "Parthenon Drive" hearken back to their classic '80s post-punk, minus the gloomy anger (complete with "glad-to-be-alive" lyrics). In fact, they now seem downright well-adjusted.
