Released:
Label: Cobra Entertainment LLC.
Sounds of the Jungle begins with the 16-plus minute "Jungle Birdsong," a single bird singing three notes over and over and over. While the field recording is undeniably beautiful and ideal for meditation, it's "Turkey Talk" and "Hoots and Howls" that make the Echoes of Nature series the treasure that they are. The guttural, percussive sound a turkey makes on "Turkey Talk" is downright astonishing (0:53), and the "Hoots and Howls" that emerge from the wall of night insects, overlapping each other and slowly gathering menace, create a real atmosphere of strangeness and wonder.
