After two solo efforts, Edie Brickell gathered the New Bohemians for their first release as a band in 16 years. Her warm, inviting vocals and whispered phrasing are still the driving force here, especially on the tracks "Stranger Things" and "Buffalo Ghost." Combined with Brickell's inspired talent is a group of musicians that are so familiar with each other it seems like they haven't missed a day of practice during their hiatus. The release contains no smash hits, just a solid set of pleasant mid-tempo tunes.
