Biography
Edmond Hall had been on the jazz scene for well over a decade before his swinging clarinet style kicked in during the late 1930s. He was part of the Teddy Wilson Sextet and Eddie Condon's group before joining Louis Armstrong's outfit in the mid-'50s. Hall also led many of his own sessions, and his invigorating, soulful sound makes you wonder how the clarinet went out of fashion in popular music.
