Ednita Nazario was -- and is -- a massive star in Puerto Rico and is a stalwart of Latin pop. She got her start in the 1960s as a child star and blossomed to full-fledged stardom in the 1970s and '80s thanks in part to her multi-lingualism and passionate vocal delivery. She has more platinum and gold albums under her belt than J.Lo could even dream of, and a fanatical fanbase to boot. The '90s were a period of artistic decline for Nazario, due to poor promotion from EMI Latin and changing tastes. But since signing with Sony in 2000 Nazario's been recording heavily and working to gain a foothold again in the notoriously fickle pop world.
