by El JJ
Released: Apr 2011
El JJ's offstage life (bragging about dealing drugs, dating a girl who got arrested for allegedly beating up a footballer) bleeds into his music. His vocals sound half-lit, and the whole album practically swaggers with cocky arrogance -- a funky bass line saunters up and down the title track and on the opening track, he alternates peppy accordion strains with gunshots. It's kind of terrifying. And he positively sells every second of it.
