It's hard to believe this is only El Kid's second record: "Hypnosis" is nail-bitten dubstep on par with Burial, Shackleton or Zomby, while "Mud" and "Kachinja" are eerie, stumbling house cuts that echo Actress, Kassem Mosse and BNJMN in their decaying, dissolute frequencies, pooling like puddles of spent energy around steadfast 4/4 beats. It's just four tracks, including a dub from Hyperdub's Walton, but loop them for hours and you'll still find something new.
