Hello Love by Ella Fitzgerald
Released: Jan 1959
Label:
Ella's final release of the 1950s, this richly romantic ballad set matches nine standards with there rarely recorded numbers. Based on the success of Sinatra's concept albums, but Frank Devol's string charts are lighter than Gordon Jenkins' but much heavier than Nelson Riddle's. Short jazz contributions by Ben Webster (sax) and Sweets Edison (trumpet) add to the session.
