by Eric Church
Released: Mar 2009
Label: Capitol Nashville
Eric Church's critically acclaimed 2006 debut hit a soft spot in the hearts of many. The most endearing parts of the album -- its clever turns of phrase and down-home stories -- have also made their way into his follow-up, Carolina. Kicking the album off with a burst of adrenaline is "Ain't Killed Me Yet," a breakup rocker filled with emphatic drums and loud, fuzzy guitars. Other highlights include the fist-pumping "Lotta Boot Left to Fill," (a commentary on the anemic state of country music), the driving "Young and Wild" and the slow heartbreaker "Where She Told Me to Go."
