Secret Society is Europe's second album of the '00s and sounds more like modern Bon Jovi than old school hair metal, which is a good thing since their 1986 hit, "The Final Countdown," has aged about as well as Starship's enduring megaturd "We Built This City." With more emphasis on the dark arts of the guitar hammer-on than ever, their trademark chorus of angels providing vocal backing and almost no sappy ballads whatsoever, Europe remain major international players.
