Exit Clov

Biography

Exit Clov is led by twin sisters, singers and songwriters Emily and Susan Hsu, who founded the band in Washington, D.C., in 2003 and solidified a line-up that includes drummer John Thayer, bassist Brett Niederman and guitarist Aaron Leeder. The band's name is an homage Samuel's Beckett's second play, Endgame, a major inspiration for their songs. The band released its debut Starfish EP in 2004 and followed it in 2005 with the self-released Saskwatch EP and 2006's Jolly Roget Sessions EP. Later in 2006, the band signed with Livewire Recordings and released the Respond Respond EP, which saw extensive independent airplay and charted on CMJ.
