Ten Years of Abuse and Still Broke
Eyehategod
Released:
May 2001
Label:
Caroline Third Party
Mostly live, with demos and radio appearances thrown in, Ten Years was put together to get Eyehategod out of their contract with Century Media as they moved to Emetic Records in 2005. While the sound is hit or miss, the album is a vital document of EHG's level-topping putridity as a live band for anyone who never had their eardrums blown out by them in person. As the years pass and their influence is heard in more and more bands (White Mice, Isis and Mastodon, to name a few), Eyehategod is often cited as the most important band to emerge from the muck of the NOLA sludge-metal scene.
