Released: Sep 2010

Fat Freddy's Drop occupies a very interesting spot on the music scene. While they undoubtedly appeal to the jam band audience, they're both funkier and tighter than your average jam band, and they utilize dub and dance music trickery without slipping entirely into either of those realms. As New Zealanders, perhaps this comes naturally: They're outsiders, and consequently can pick and choose what they like from the music washing around the world. This live album makes a case for them as a great 21st century band -- not beholden to any one genre, simply exploring old influences with fresh ideas.
