If not for brief appliance-banging intro parts (of the title cut, "Depraved Mind Murder," "Virus of Faith") that mimic a factory floor in ways very early industrial outfits like Test Dept used to, plus some background vocals that flirt with medievalist goth darkness, most of this album would come off as fairly generic machine-metal -- albeit with harder-to-take bully-boy retching than most, incongruous self-help slogans, and an inescapable faux-drum clickety-clack that suggests a pool full of Smith Coronas. Toward set's end, the sound effects turn more atmospheric and backward-masky.
