The End Of History
Fionn Regan
Released:
Jul 2007
Label:
Lost Highway Records
Arriving in the UK in 2006, Irishman Fionn Regan's debut received a stateside release by Lost Highway in 2007, introducing yet another prodigiously talented singer-songwriter to the ranks of Damien Rice and David Gray. But for as much as he shares Rice and Gray's preference for witty, melancholic, acoustic compositions, Regan's agile finger-picking bares resemblance to Iron and Wine's ("Be Good or Be Gone"), and his reedy vocals sound not unlike Thom Yorke's ("End of History"). To the delight of fans of smart, mellow music the world over, Regan breezes in with a familiar yet distinctive sound.
