The long-standing Celtic rock band's seventh album overall, Float is rife with the accordions that identified the Pogues' Rum Sodomy and the Lash and the clean-as-a-whistle production of If I Should Fall From Grace With God, but contains less of the depressing aspects of listening to Shane MacGowan's public self-annihilation. In other words, Flogging Molly's approach is as poetic as the Pogues' but not as doomed, so while it's best listened to from deep within your cups, you don't have to worry about court-ordered AA meetings, halfway houses or apocalyptic dental hygiene.
