The sophomore album by these platinum goths retains at least some Christian subtext: In "Beautiful Bride" a down-tuned staccato call-and-response chug breaks into ecstatic hallelujahs; on "In the Dark" Lacey Mosley gives a shout out to Jesus before confessing that she's now more afraid of silence than noise. Memento Mori revels in both extremes of volume, turning on a dime from Made Out Of Babies thrash panic to sweet lullabies from a princess' music box. And where the melodic swirl of "Missing" could almost pass for a Flock of Seagulls, "Swept Away" is heavy even by metal standards.
