For his solo debut, Dipset's Zekey delivers a well-rounded NYC hardcore album. The breezy, self-confident "Like This" is perfect BBQ music, while "Killem Killem" captures the moody menace the title suggests. "Hater What You Lookin' At" reaches for the ballin' electro-bounce of capo Jim Jones' 2006 smash "We Fly High," but it's a little too quirky for its own good. Zekey isn't an exceptional rapper -- he's more straightforward than fellow Dipset emcees Cam'ron or Juelz Santana. But his workmanlike approach to rap is admirable.
