Gallows' grim follow-up to the heavily praised Orchestra of Wolves opens with the dramatic, post-apocalyptic "The Riverbank," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. They fulfill their punk duty by commenting on the state of the U.K. (or the whole world, for that matter; see: "Crucif*cks") through harsh, gravelly vocals that shout out furious warnings ("Black Eyes") and sing sad tales ("The Vulture"), all while delving into a barrage of tumultuous riffs and breakdowns.
