The burial place of Saint Dymphna, daughter of a pagan Irish king, has been linked to miraculous cures of mental illness. Whether Gang Gang Dance's album can do the same is still in question, but the New York experimentalists themselves are certainly not afraid of a little insanity. There's a method to their madness, though, and here they patch together African tribal beats, lightsaber whooshes, downtempo rhythms, female shrills and shrieks (provided by Lizzie Bougatsos), ambient purrs, twinkling keyboards, electro drum taps and MC raps into an awesome dance-rock collage.
