True to its title, Manipulado features songs that have been scrambled, reworked, buried and then unearthed. But unlike a lot of remix albums, this is no stylistic Frankenstein featuring jarring transitions from one song to the next: Gecko Turner's ultra-cool Latin lounge sound glues the whole thing together. The guy can seduce the ladies in three languages -- English, Spanish and Portuguese -- and the DJs here only build on Turner's natural magnetism. A hip slice of global pop given the downtempo treatment.
