"Brazil" is the only reason why this record isn't totally forgotten. It's the version that appears in director Terry Gilliam's cult film of the same name. It's also just one highlight on an album full of them. Originally released in 1970, Pottery Pie is a homespun collection of funky country-blues and hazy folk music. As with early Ry Cooder and New Morning-era Dylan, the Muldaurs sound woozy and detached, as if they're holed up in a remote mountain cottage in the middle of winter.
