Gerald Collier

Gerald Collier

Biography

Formerly of the Seattle-by-way-of-Arizona Punk-Pop quartet Best Kissers in the World, Gerald Collier seems about as sad as a near pop star can be. His strained, haunting voice writhes against a spaghetti Western flavored backdrop of lap steel, acoustic guitar, and brush-stroke rhythms, implying he never completely tore his roots from the scorched and cracking Arizona earth. The Best Kissers were one of those few unfortunate lottery winners in the Internal Revenue Service's annual audit sweepstakes, which perhaps offers further insight into Collier's choice of song titles like "Boozer," "Bender (I'm on one)," and "God Never Lived in My Neighborhood." Dredging up all those liquor receipts would probably land you back at the bar, too.
