On this two-disc set of "contrasts," Gilberto Santa Rosa pits salsa against ballads, performing some songs both ways. Disc 1 could be the best new salsa album of the year, featuring elegant sonero, Santa Rosa's perfect combination of dura and romantic styles. Highlights: "Conteo Regresivo" and "No Estoy para Ti." Disc 2 is still for dancing, this time slow. Santa Rosa's second set varies from rhythmic boleros with a classic Latin sound to fervent romantic pop ballads. As always, El Caballero de la Salsa does it all with class.
