Though San Francisco's Girls sprinkle their tunes with numerous f-bombs and other colorful poetry (example: "You've been a b*tch/ I've been an *ss"), ultimately they're all about gorgeous lo-fi pop full of bubbly melodies and Brit pop-inspired moxie. Imagine what the typical Ariel Pink record sounds like without all the hardcore sonic insanity, and you more or less nail Album. There are some truly killer jams here, especially "Big Bad Mean Motherf*cker," a heavenly slice of surf-punk nirvana.
