Goatwhore

Louisiana-based blackened death metal band Goatwhore were formed by Acid Bath guitarist Sammy Duet following the breakup of Acid Bath band in 1997. Enlisting the vocal screech of Ben Falgoust and second guitar player Ben Stout, the band released its debut, The Eclipse of Ages into Black, in 2000. By 2006, Goatwhore had signed with Metal Blade, and their major-label debut, A Haunting Curse, hit the shelves that year. While New Orleans has long been known for its sludge metal scene, Goatwhore play an amped-up version of straight death metal with a mile-wide satanic streak. Singer Ben Falgoust has also provided vocals for seminal deathgrind band Soilent Green since 1993. Stout left Goatwhore in 2002, and the band has employed a single guitarist since '03. In 2009, the quintet released Carving Out the Eyes of God.
