Grease Band & Amazing Grease

Grease Band & Amazing Grease by Grease Band
Released: May 1995
Label: Line
If you dig swampy '70s Americana rock akin to The Basement Tapes, then you'll have to agree that Joe Cocker's backing band sounded even better without him. England's Grease Band were often compared to the Band, but listen to this awesome twofer and you may hear a closer liking to Doug Yule or McGuinness Flint. Recorded in 1971, these songs revealed a near genius in guitarist/singer Henry McCullough who would later join Sir Paul and Lady Linda in Wings, which is kind of depressing when you hear how much cooler the backwoods boogie of "Laughed At The Judge" is in comparison to "Silly Love Songs."
